The European stocks before last week were doing well but unfortunately the stocks have declined for the first time in the last week on Monday 04th June 2007 just because the Deutsche Bank AG and BNP Paribas shares being at high. Owing to that the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 index lost 0.3% to 399.3 that day.
And even the Stoxx 50 fell to 0.3% and the U.K’s FTSE 100 too fell by 0.2%. It was anticipated that the following day i.e on Tuesday 05th June 2007 the stocks will be in their normal position, but the anticipation was reversed. On Tuesday too the stocks fell down by 0.1% making it a routine for the next following two days too (i.e on Wednesday and Thursday) 6th and 7th June respectively. On Friday 8th June 2007 the stocks again fell by 1.4%.
So, the Last week was full of drops in the European Equity.
The Shareholders and Traders were expecting a fresh start for the European Equity in this week, but it is expected that the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 will fall by 0.1% making it to 385.09. And the Euro Stoxx 50 Index a benchmark for the 13 nations using the Euro will be decreased by 0.1% to 4376.42.
In my opinion, if the Central Bank is sure of raising the interest rates then the European Equity will be in depreciating condition. Since, still the central bank has not yet decided anything, so I hope the European Equity will cope up with the current situation.
